WONDERFUL antique Chinese designer signed ORNATE sterling silver turquoise and mediterranean coral reliquary necklace. This beautifully crafted necklace is in remarkable antique condition with no damage other than very minor surface wear. It is 18” long with an additional 1 3/4” extension chain, weighs 30.7 grams and features a reliquary (receptacle box/locket) pendant that is 1 5/8” long by 1 3/8” wide by 5/8” deep. This box/locket hangs on an equally fine, sturdy rolo link chain with elongated, textured stations, a hook and eye clasp and extension chain with a coral bead “charm”. The reliquary is set with a lovely turquoise stone at center and six mediterranean coral cabochons around the edge. The outer edge is also decorated with a repoussé design that looks almost like figures. The center portion is slightly raised and has applied silver in a scrollwork type design. The bottom of the reliquary is a double bullet style hinge. This box opens at the top, but it is held in place by the chain. The chain must be removed to open the box. I did not photograph the interior, but I was told that the condition is the same as the rest of this exquisite necklace and I am sure that it is. I did not want to open a link to remove this chain, but it can certainly be done, if desired. The craftsmanship of this entire necklace is some of the finest that I have seen in a necklace of this type. All of the applied silver work and design was executed with great care and skill. I can see why the artisan signed this piece. The pendant/reliquary is stamped “China, BJ, 925” on the back and on an attached tag at the end of the chain. All of the silver in this necklace, including the pendant, chain and clasp, has been professionally tested as sterling silver and they are guaranteed to be so. The mediterranean coral and turquoise has been verified by a certified gemologist. ***PLEASE NOTE: Any display items pictured are NOT included.*** I request payment within two days of purchase and will ship within two days of payment via USPS First Class mail.
