This handsome Bulova Accutron 218 vintage 1970 (N0 date code) wrist watch can be yours now with no bidding, no waiting, no watching, and no disappointment. A SERVICING WAS JUST COMPLETED BY AN ACCUTRON SPECIALIST. The movement is the revolutionary early space age humming smooth sweeping electronic tuning fork 2180 no date. It is running steadily, dependably, and keeping time powered by a new and readily available Energizer 344 battery. The watch has been phased for the newer 1.5V batteries. The dial is in great condition. The crystal has been polished. The stainless bracelet is used but in good condition (see photos). The case is approximately 34mm not including the crown. The lug width is 17mm. It will fit a wrist up to 7 inches with just a little stretching of the bracelet. It will fit a larger wrist by stretching more. This is a fine watch that you will be proud to wear and add to your collection. FREE USPS GROUND ADVANTAGE MAILING to USA address. I carefully select and monitor for proper operation all watches before offering them for sale. The battery has been checked and replaced if needed. However I cannot guarantee the degree of timekeeping accuracy or longevity of a vintage watch. A NOTE ABOUT VINTAGE ACCUTRONS: Vintage electronic tuning fork Bulova Accutrons are sought after by watch enthusiasts for their unique technology, styling, variety, history, and collectible appeal. The electronic tuning fork watch movement was a development of the beginning of the Space Age and the invention of transistors, capacitors, miniature batteries, and other electronic advances. The introduction of the Accutron in 1960 was a revolution in watch design. Accutrons were the most accurate timepieces available for sale to the public and guaranteed by Bulova to run with an accuracy of +/- one minute per month. The watches were manufactured from 1960 to 1977 when they were replaced by quartz movements which cost less to manufacture. The accuracy of their vintage electronic/mechanical movement has been surpassed by modern high quality quartz movement watches. The Accutron 214, 218, 219, and 224 series movements are remarkably durable: I have seen 50+ year old examples that are still running with little or no servicing, only an annual battery replacement. However the movements have mechanical gear trains that operate most efficiently when they have been disassembled, cleaned, lubricated, and timed by a trained watch repair person. TO SUM UP: If precise timekeeping accuracy is your top priority I suggest that you purchase a new high quality quartz movement watch, or simply check the time on your cell phone.
