Based in Lviv.In the early 1990s, the unit was a training center, later transformed into a brigade. In the 1990s and 2000s, she participated in international exercises and peacekeeping missions.In the spring of 2014, it was among the first to be raised to repel Russian aggression, the units were sent to the northeastern borders of Ukraine. Servicemen of the brigade took part in the first battle of the war in Donbas — on April 13, 2014, near Semenivka, and later they took part in the battles for Sloviansk. Other units of the brigade were stationed in the Luhansk region, where they fought in the area of Metalist, Georgiyivka and Lutugyny, Luhansk airport, Novosvitlivka and Khryashchuvaty.
