Minolta AF Maxxum (Sony Alpha) 28mm/2.8 Wide Angle Prime Lens Mint Minus Condition w/ Tiffen UV Filter The vintage Minolta 28mm f/2.8 lens is a classic full frame wide angle lens that has demonstrated its reliability and fine optical performance for almost 40 years. The build and durability are fantastic – inside, die cast metal helicoids and gears won’t wear out or break. Outside, the durable black enamel stands the test of time. This Sony Alpha mount lens will require an adapter for use with Sony E Mount. You get the look of a beautifully styled classic Minolta lens for your new Sony DSLR and the legacy of matched optics that many refer to as the “Minolta colors”; superb image characteristics engineered into the entire vintage Minolta lens catalogue. Ironically, you also have a lens for the future – larger full frame sensor cameras like the A850, A900 and A99/A99II are getting less expensive on eBay all the time and will be 100% compatible with that upgrade. The new A7 series and A9 E mount cameras look great with one of these attached, and the small size of the lens is a perfect match. (mount adapter required for E mount.) This is a very lightly used Maxxum 28mm f/2.8 wide angle lens (S/N 178010xx) in mint minus condition. There are just a few very light and inconsequential marks to the enamel and a spot of wear on the focus ring. This is a very nice copy of the Minolta AF28. The optics are flawless, with no fungus inside and no scratches on the exterior glass surfaces. The rubber grip looks great and the mount is shiny and unworn. The aperture blades are of course oil free and snappy. The lens has its own built-in hood. Included are front and rear lens caps and the Tiffen UV filter.
