About The Artist Manuel Alejandro Pérez Marrero 1983, Sagua La grande, Villa Clara, Cuba, graduado en licenciatura de artes plásticas en el instituto superior Félix Varela. 2000-2004 trabaja como diseñador y profesor instituto superior Félix Varela. 2004-2006 trabaja como profesor en la escuela vocacional Ernesto Guevara. 2006-2007 trabaja como profesor en la escuela de instructores de arte Manuel Ascunce Domenech. 2007-2010 comparte taller con destacados artistas de la ciudad de santa clara e inaugura su espacio privado en donde expone su obra hasta la actualidad. Sus obras se han expuesto en países como los Estado Unidos, Dinamarca, Canadá. Muchas de sus obras forman parte de colecciones privadas en diferentes países, principalmente en Europa y E.U., Rusia, Beirut. Reside desde el año 2000 en la ciudad de Santa Clara y se establece como artista independiente a partir de 2007, fecha en que conforma su estudio-taller, que ha sido desde entonces su hogar. Durante su período estudiantil obtuvo premios relevantes a nivel provincial, en certámenes de dibujo, pintura y acuarela; razón que le llevó a destacarse como pintor durante sus años de estudiante y que le favoreció en reconocimiento por parte de su claustro de profesores, quienes manifestaron especial interés y apoyo a su talento como joven creador. Aun cuando su carrera ha estado encaminada al rompimiento con los cánones institucionales y la retórica tradicional de las artes plásticas, ha realizado exposiciones en centros culturales estatales. La generalidad de sus obras ha sido mostrada en exposiciones realizadas en galerías y estudios- talleres privados radicados en ciudades como La Habana, Trinidad y Santa clara. Su obra ha sido expuesta además en países como Dinamarca, Estados Unidos, España y Holanda, siendo esta la modalidad de mayor complacencia para dicho creador, en tanto su personalidad extrovertida y su formación prácticamente autodidacta le confieren un valioso espíritu de libertad a la hora de ofrecer al público su producto artístico. About The Artist Manuel Alejandro Pérez Marrero 1983, Sagua La Grande, Villa Clara, Cuba, graduated with a degree in plastic arts from the Félix Varela Higher Institute. 2000-2004 he works as a designer and professor at the Félix Varela Higher Institute. 2004-2006 works as a teacher at the Ernesto Guevara Vocational School. 2006-2007 he works as a teacher at the Manuel Ascunce Domenech art instructors school. 2007-2010 he shared a studio with leading artists from the city of santa clara and inaugurated his private space where he exhibited his work up to the present. His works have been exhibited in countries such as the United States, Denmark, Canada. Many of his works are part of private collections in different countries, mainly in Europe and the US, Russia, Beirut. He has lived in the city of Santa Clara since 2000 and established himself as an independent artist in 2007, when he set up his studio-workshop, which has been his home ever since. During his student period he obtained relevant prizes at the provincial level, in drawing, painting and watercolor contests; reason that led him to stand out as a painter during his student years and that favored him in recognition by his faculty, who expressed special interest and support for his talent as a young creator. Even though his career has been aimed at breaking with the institutional canons and the traditional rhetoric of the plastic arts, he has held exhibitions in state cultural centers. Most of his works have been shown in exhibitions held in galleries and private studios-workshops located in cities such as Havana, Trinidad and Santa Clara. His work has also been exhibited in countries such as Denmark, the United States, Spain and the Netherlands, this being the type of greatest satisfaction for said creator, as his Outgoing personality and his practically self-taught training give him a valuable spirit of freedom when it comes to offering his artistic product to the public.
