VINTAGE ~ JJ Co JONETTE JEWELRY ~** ANTHROPOMORPHIC CARTOON**~ PINK ENAMEL DRAGONFLY ~** PIN or BROOCH _______________________________ SIZE: This pin measures approximately 2 & 1/4″ in height; 1 & 1/8″ in width (Highest / Widest Points) DESCRIPTION: This auction features a vintage JJ Co (aka Jonette Jewelry) bright pink Dragonfly pin or brooch. I believe this pin would be considered an “anthropomorphic” style and also highly resembles a cartoon, as well. There is a small amount of light purple enameling, along with black antennae. She appears to be smiling and also has a pair of emerald green rhinestone eyes. The back is a gold-tone metal, and it is marked on one of the wings with, “c. J.J.” inside a small rectangle. It bears a safety clasp closure, as well. It is a neat vintage piece and would be a great addition to any J.J. Co. collection. Please do view the pictures (and video) as a part of the overall description, as well. Thank you! CONDITION: FAIR ~ I am considering the age and use of this item when factoring the condition rating. This pin appears to be in Fair condition for the age and use of it. It does have some minor usage wear seen — mostly in the form of light surface scratches and very minor gold-tone metal wear. The biggest issue I found was a small area crack to one of the tiny antennas on the top of the head. At first, I thought this was simply a piece of missing black enamel. On further inspection, though, I noticed the crack does appear to go to the back, too. It also looks like someone may have tried to reinforce it with some kind of clear glue on the back of the antennae. I honestly don’t know how close this might be to falling off which is why I wanted to note it. That said, I think if it’s fixed by someone with the know-how then it might be ok. Either way, I did want to note it. The safety clasp closure is a little stiff at the clasp, but does still open and close correctly. There is some minor storage soiling seen, but I’ll leave any polishing and/or cleaning to the new owner. I think if the crack to the antennae can be repaired, it would really be a neat little pin — particularly for display! If there is anything I may have missed where the condition is concerned, please feel free to message me and I’ll be happy to help. With age and use considered, I would still say this pin rates in Fair condition overall. AGE/YEAR MADE: Although exact age is unknown, I do believe this pin is vintage.
