COLD PACKS will be used in summer months/heat packs in winter months. Ayam Cemani are avery HIGH CULL (removal, not kill) RATE breed. We are constantly working on improving our stock and incorporationg better bloodlines while removing flaws (featheredshanks, white toes, etc.) I encourage you to do research on this breed prior to purchasing. Patience is key to improve this breed. Raise a lot of chicks to at least young adult age, preferably adult age, and then select the best of the best and cull off the rest. Don’t select your breeders based on chicks. Wait to select which adults to use as breeders because that’s how you truly select the quality you are going to reproduce and improve your flock. The Ayam Cemani is a rare chicken breed from Java in Indonesia. The word Ayam means chicken in Indonesian, while Cemani has two possible translations: it either means entirely black, or it comes from a place called Cemani in Java. The Ayam Cemani is steeped in mysticism and prized in its native land of Java for its magic blood. It is rather unusual, having entirely black feathers, black comb, black skin, black meat, black internal organs, and even black bones. Shipping:Eggs are shipped in foam shippers or individually wrapped in pipe insulation and then protected by pollyfill, bubblewrap or other packing items. All shipments will be double-boxed to afford the most protection available for shipped eggs. I ship Monday – Saturday. Eggs are shipped Priority Mail and typically take 3-5 business days but can sometimes take up to 7. Please plan your incubation accordingly by having your incubator ready to go and set to the proper temperature and humidy rate. We do recommend that you let the eggs sit for at least 12 hours prior to putting them in your incubator. Fertility:Icannotguarantee that each egg will develop and hatch due to their fragile nature. If an egg doesn’tdevelop, that does NOT mean that it was infertile! There are many things that can prevent a viable egg from developing, most of which are usually caused by trauma during shipping (scrambling, rolling air cells, x-rays, etc). My hatch rate on the farm is>90%.
