An inner braid is useful when flexibility and vibration absorption is really important. Lined flexes and ILOK flexes have a stiffer inner lining which makes them less flexible. With the increased flexibility from an inner braid flex you can ensure fitment and reduce vibration along the exhaust. What Other Types of Flex Are There? The two other main types of flex are – ILOK and lined. ILOK flexes have a special tightly wound inner lining which keeps the heat in the exhaust gases and is super durable so will last longer. Lined flexes are quieter than braided and are typically the sort used in after-market manufacture. An ILOK flex will last longer than a lined flex in most situations.
