This bass has the character and battle scars of a well-loved instrument, and it’s all set for studio sessions or to bring some unique vibe to the stage. This model features Fender’s innovative 3-bolt neck with a micro-tilt adjustment, introduced in the mid-70s. This system allows you to fine-tune the neck angle to perfection, giving you low, comfortable action without the hassle of sharp saddle screws poking out. The result is an exceptionally well-playing bass that’s easily adjustable to your personal preferences. When it comes to tone, this bass delivers a rich, classic sound. The grey-bottom bridge pickup is original to the instrument and retains that unmistakable Jazz Bass throatiness and growl, thanks to the iconic 70’s pickup spacing. The neck pickup has been replaced with an unbranded ceramic jazz bass pickup, adding a slightly more full output, so you know this bass can funk with the best. The electronics, including the pots and tone capacitor, are original and date back to the 13th week of 1976. Visually, this bass is a unique piece. The finish shows signs of wear that suggest a storied past. It’s unclear whether the color is an original finish that’s naturally aged or a home-brew refinishing job that’s seen better days. Either way, it’s bursting with character, making it a one-of-a-kind instrument that stands out in any collection. The pickguard has a crack near the bass-side neck heel, which has been repaired with white fill material—just another layer to its vintage charm. The headstock has been finished over, and a replacement decal has been applied, covering up the original serial number with a non-serialized Fender Jazz Bass logo. Despite these cosmetic idiosyncrasies, the hardware remains largely original, including the bridge and tuners, which have been well-maintained.
