Description: Very Rare! 14.5” Kammer & Reinhardt #100 “The Rare Glass-Eyed Kaiser Baby,” with no damage to the bisque socket head, brown glass sleep eyes, molded upper and lower eye lids, painted edge of upper eye lid, painted eyebrows, shaded nostrils, open/closed mouth with shaded and accented lips, original blonde mohair wig, and on a fully jointed wood and composition body. The body appears to be in the original finish. He wears an antique chemise (probably factory original) with diaper. He also wears a darling antique christening gown which could also be original. I thought the gown was cotton, but it feels and looks more like raw silk material. There is one area of wear or melting near the edge of the gown which can be folded so it does not show on display. His bisque has no damage, and he is a very desirable glass-eyed German character doll in a great cabinet size! He may have a very slight nose rub. Without the wig, the doll measures 14.5” tall. With the wig, he measures about 14.75” tall. Condition: Please see photos. The bisque head has no damage, hairlines, or repairs. He may have a very slight nose rub. The body is in overall excellent condition as photographed and appears to be in the original finish with typical wear commensurate with age. Please see the photos. Marks: “36” (incised low on back of head). The glass-eyed Kaiser Babies were marked only with the size number. Circa: 1909.
